I could not have door handles like that in my house. The German Shepherd would go around the house opening doors at will. She already tries to flip open the dead bolts when she really wants to go outside.

Put Linux on it. Runs much better than Windows on older machines, is still officially supported if you get the right version, and doesn’t cost a cent.

If you want to know the specs and it’s running Windows Vista, go download a program from Piriform called Speccy, or just look up the model number on the Support section of Acer’s website (I think I see the word Acer on the top of it there - I also see the USB ports on top....an Aspire desktop of some sort?)

One of these perhaps, or similar? If so, the proc and video card would be fine for basic everyday stuff...2GB is a little low on RAM though. $20 more bucks for 2GB more RAM and it would be a perfectly useable machine with Linux on it. (I have a few-month-old Win10 desktop as my go-to machine, but the laptop I got for free that I am currently typing this to you on has similar stats to your machine running Linux Mint 18 MATE 64-bit, and it’s perfectly useable!)
